A bit about Bad Moon

  • Bad Moon started back in 2019 with the idea of a fun and inclusive swim brand, emphasizing unique pieces and size diversity. It all began with sewing a new summer bikini for myself and one of my closest girlfriends and quickly blossomed into what it is today. This business is a crucial outlet for creativity and design, allowing a platform to share these creations with my friends and customers.

  • As a kid my summers were full of swimming, and honestly nothing much has changed since becoming an adult. To this day one of the best things I can do for my mental health is jump in the water and go for a swim. My main source of inspiration for this brand is allowing others to feel comfortable and confident in the water while wearing something they love.

    Growing up I was lucky to have many empowering female role models in my life. The most inspirational being my mother and my grandmother. Both are avid swimmers, coaches, and overall water lovers. My grandmother used to sew my mothers Synchronized Swimming Team’s competition suits back in the 70’s and 80’s. Going through her old photos and projects was one of my main inspirations for starting my own swimwear line and experimenting with design.

  • Hi — I’m Piper Noble, founder of Bad Moon. I started the business as a passion project while working full time elsewhere. Over the years it became my sole occupation, and now it serves as a creative outlet to connect and inspire.

    I began sewing because I wanted to make my own swimwear and clothing, and I gained hands-on experience cutting pieces for another small maker. After taking a garment construction course at the Pacific Design Academy, I felt confident I had the skills to start selling my pieces.

    Now I work part time as a Pilates instructor in my small town and use Bad Moon as a journal for my creativity and my passion for well-made pieces.
